YORK TOWNSHIP BOARD APPROVES ROAD PROJECT

Posted on: 2010-03-09
At the March meeting of the York Township Board of Trustees the motion passed to support your YTRA Board proposal to crack seal the roads within our community. The request took some work convincing the Trustees, but we prevailed. Look for the work to be done sometime this summer. This hopefully will slow the deteriation of our streets and prolong more serious and expensive resurfacing work later.

Thanks to those residents who turned out in support at the township hall. Especially Steve Horwood, Cheryl MaBee and David Stuver who voiced their support to the Township officials. Also, John Woloskie who's preliminary work helped us get there.

Response to: Recent Annual Meeting Ambush

Posted on: 2010-02-14
Since I was one of the residents who had to take down a pool, I will assume that the 'childish outburst' comment was aimed at me. I do not appreciate reading this from a nameless source in a website. If people have issues with neighbors there should be direct discourse and it should not resort to name-calling in a blog. In the meeting I was voicing an opinion that some others in the sub have: that the board makes subjective decisions about the by-laws based on who is serving on it at the time. Most importantly I wanted get our position put into the meeting minutes. I am not sure what is being implied about the committees but Michelle served on the beautification committee for 2 years pulling weeds. Please neighbors; let us not devolve into talking anonymously about one another on this website.

Change of Local Deputy Sheriff

Posted on: 2009-12-23
Effective 1-3-2009
Hello,
I would like to take this time to introduce myself. My name is Deputy Keith Mansell. I will be taking over the duties as your York Twp. Community Engagement Officer. Just a brief history on myself. I have been in Law Enforcement for 13 years. I have spent the past 10 years with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office. Some of you may already know me as I served York Twp a few years ago. Prior to my career in Law Enforcement, I was a member of the United States Air force and served as a B-52 Crew Chief during Desert Storm.
I would like to adress several questions that I have received about the email alert system. The question was brought up about the email alert system and if I plan to continue it. The email alert system is an invaluable resource that I plan to continue. Not only do i plan to continue it, but I would like to expand it so if you have a neighbor or friend that has not signed up for it, please pass on the information and if they have any questions, refer them to me and i will be happy to explain the program to them.
Also, please remember that Vacation/Property check forms are available at the York Twp. hall. This is a service that is provided to you by the Sheriff's Office. If you are going out of town, simply fill out the form, with your contact information, and we will periodically check your residence while you are away.
Last but not least, if you are driving by the station, feel free to drop in and say hello. My door is always open and I would love to meet you. As always, take care, be safe, and if you should have any questions, suggestions, or concerns, I would be more than happy to assist you. My contact information is listed below. Thanks and have a great day. Keith
